Studied history of art at Groningen university and received a master's degree in art history at Leiden university. For over thirty years she worked as a specialist, auctioneer and certified valuer in the international art market, at Sotheby’s and Christie’s Amsterdam and abroad. She was founding partner of Glerum c.s., nowadays AAG.
In 2012 she left Christie’s to found her independent company in art valuations and advisory: TAXATIES & ADVIES. She values for various purposes, she mediates in the sale of art at auction, consigns arts, jewellery, antiquities and silver, lectures and an auctioneer for charity.

Bernadette de Bruijn is a sworn and certified valuer arts, antiques, jewellery & silver since 1997 and a member of the Dutch Association of valuers, brokers and auctioneers TMV (www.federatie-tmv.nl), registered in the Chamber of Commerce in Amsterdam, number 56037228. She is certified by HOBEON and a chartered member of R.I.C.S. (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. https://www.rics.org/). She values for various purposes for example insurance, actual market value, succession.

Her experience over thirty years as a specialist at both Sotheby’s and Christie’s provide the connections to consign art, jewellery, antiquities and silver at international and national auction houses.
Lecturing
Bernadette de Bruijn is an experienced speaker on art history topics and crafts, her passion jewellery, as well as on the art market. She lectured at the KBC in Brussels, Puilaetco Dewaay, ABN, Van Lanschot, The Dutch Bussines Clubs in Marbella, Geneva and Zürich, PAN and TEFFAF in Maastricht. From 2011 – 2014 she lectured at E.D.H.E.C. in Lille. She guides small groups aroud at PAN and TEFAF.
